Learning about Mass

Our class was fortunate to have Mrs.Muir visit our class for a second time. This time we explored mass using many types of objects. We used some new math language that is used when comparing mass, such as heavier and heaviest, lighter and lightest and the same. We used balance scales, paper bags filled with objects and the hand test to see if we could tell which objects were heavier or lighter. We also used our eyes as tools to see if we could predict which objects were heaving or lighter just by looking at them. It was a lot of fun and we are so happy you came to our class. Thanks Mrs. Muir:)

Math Fun

The Kindergarten class was excited to welcome Mrs.Susan Muir, GSSD Math coach, into their classroom today. The students are learning about measurement and she brought many items for the students to explore. Ask your child to share some of the things he did in class today.

Seeing green and some future community workers!

April has arrived and with it I hope warmer weather.

This month the students will be exploring spring, measurement, earth day and recycling.

As you and your child enjoy the warmer weather, have them notice the signs of spring.
